We did it, now what?”  This class will help you prepare prenatally for the first three months at home or what we refer to as the 4th trimester. You will learn important skills for getting the home ready for your baby’s arrival, meal planning and preparation, household tasks and chores, and important information on the emotional elements of the postpartum period. The information and skills presented to you will be relevant whether you are a first time or seasoned family.

This class will be held at Sky Ridge Medical Center inside the Women’s Hospital Atrium Classroom located 10101 RidgeGate Pkwy, Lone Tree,CO 80124.

Please take Sky Ridge Ave. east to our free, covered parking garage.  After you exit the garage, cross the street and take the stairs to the entry doors, which are adjacent to our Spine and Total Joint Center and the Evergreen Medical Office Building.  Please follow the hallway leading to the Women’s Hospital Lobby. The classroom is on your left at the end of the hallway.

If we need to cancel a class, we will notify you in advance. In the event of inclement weather, please call the hospital at 720-225-1000 at least one hour before the class is scheduled.

This class specifically addresses the first uncertain week at home with your newborn. The class is designed to familiarize you with the characteristics of normal newborn behavior, appearance and baby care. Hands-on practice with diapering, bathing and swaddling are included.

This class will meet on the Second Floor Conference Center at Swedish Medical Center located at 501 East Hampden Ave., Englewood, CO 80113.

When you arrive, please look for Reference Signage on the TVs for the meeting room. Free parking is available.

Baby 101 - Understanding Your Newborn

Come explore your baby’s first few months at home during this 3-hour class. We will discuss newborn characteristics, appearance and behavior as well as bathing, diapering, comforting, bonding and the importance of early skin to skin. Sleep matters, time management, hunger cues and patterns, what to purchase and how to choose a pediatrician will also be covered. You will leave feeling more comfortable and confident with your ability to care for your newborn baby.

This class is best taken between 24-36 weeks of pregnancy.

Families that register for this class will typically register for Breastfeeding Basics, Childbirth Preparation and Infant Safety.


 

This class will be held at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in the Hummingbird Conference Room located at 2001 North High St., Denver, CO 80218.

Please park in the parking garage located across the driveway from the RMHC entrance. After entering RMHC, the Hummingbird Conference Room is located to the right across from the D elevators.

Food and drinks are allowed in the classroom.
 

Notification of cancellation must be received at least 7 days (not including the class date) prior to the start date of the class. If cancellation or change is requested less than 7 days (not including the class date) prior, no refund will be given. (Exceptions can be made due to early delivery of their baby or mother being in the hospital).

This class is $50.00 per person/couple. Only the mother-to-be needs to be be registered.

This class will be held at Sky Ridge Medical Center in the Garden Level Auditorium, located at 10101 RidgeGate Pkwy, Lone Tree, CO 80124, at I-25 and Lincoln.

This class will be held in Meeting Room 1 at The Medical Center of Aurora located at 1501 South Potomac St, Aurora, CO 80012.

Enter the hospital through the main entrance doors. Classes will be held in meeting room number 1 which is located in the hallway to the left of the coffee kiosk. If you need assistance locating the room ask the concierge located in the lobby.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a snack. 

In case of bad weather, please call the hospital’s main switchboard at 303-695-2600 at least one hour before your class for possible cancellation information.

We understand that certain circumstances may arise that will inhibit your attendance. If you need to cancel or change your class registration, please call us at 303-873-0630 as soon as possible. Notification of your cancellation or a change of class date must be received at least five days prior to the start date of the class for a refund. There are no refunds once the class is in session unless you deliver your baby. We regret that occasionally, due to low registration, we must cancel a class. This class is designed for those who know they will be delivering by cesarean. You will learn about pre-operative preparation, anesthesia, cesarean procedure and post-operative care.

In this class we will practice breathing and relaxation techniques that are designed to reduce stress and improve overall pain control during your cesarean. We will also discuss the postpartum recovery period including household preparations, support systems and realistic expectations for caring for your baby.

This class is best taken between 32-36 weeks of your pregnancy.

This class will be held at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in the Jack Chang Conference Room located at 2001 North High St., Denver, CO.

Moms, this class will give you the skills to more easily transition to new motherhood, raising a baby, and being a parent with your partner. Some of the things you will learn will be to form a parenting team, create an action plan, bring out the best in your partner, communicate more effectively, empathize with your partners unique perspective and journey through pregnancy, birth and parenthood, and brush off a lot of the judgement new moms face. Veteran moms and their infants share what they have learned and offer tips and advice to Rookie Moms who are expecting their first babies.
 

This class will be held at Sky Ridge Medical Center in the Garden Level Auditorium located at 10101 RidgeGate Pkwy., Lone Tree, CO 80124 (at I-25 and Lincoln).

When you arrive, please park at the main entrance to the hospital. After entering, you may take the stairs just south of the information desk to the Garden Level Café or use the elevators. Once in the Café please take the hallway to the right of Human Resources. This hallway leads to our Classroom, Auditorium and Administrative Boardroom.

This four-session class will meet on 05/09/2018, 05/16/2018, 05/23/2018, and 05/30/2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

When you arrive, please park in the parking garage located across the driveway from the RMHC entrance. After entering RMHC, the Hummingbird/Bluebird Conference Room is located to the right across from the D elevators.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring two pillows to class. Food and drinks are allowed in the classroom.
 

Notification of cancellation must be received at least 7 days (not including the class date) prior to the start date of the class. Childbirth Express is intended for those unable to attend a longer childbirth class or as a refresher class for those that have already had a baby. This class provides condensed information about the birth process, comfort measures and potential medical procedures. Class concludes with a maternity tour.

This class is best taken between 28 – 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Families that register for this class typically register for Baby 101: Understanding Your Newborn, Infant Safety, Comfort Essentials and Breastfeeding Basics.

Each series is a comprehensive 12-hour course offered during the evening for four weeks. These classes focus on five aspects of the birthing process: phases of labor and delivery, comfort strategies, medical procedures, breathing and relaxation conditioning, and the postpartum period. Each series includes a variety of childbirth videos and written materials. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and interact with other class participants. A tour of the Hospital and OB Unit will be included on the last day of each session.

Childbirth Preparation - Express

This class is for those who do not wish to attend the more in-depth Prepared Childbirth class. This 5 hour class contains basic information regarding childbirth. Techniques to help you manage your pain are explained, but there is limited time to practice. Cesarean birth is briefly covered as is medical procedures and interventions. A hospital tour is not included in this class. A childbirth preparation book is included. All instructors are certified childbirth educators. Please dress in comfortable clothing and bring 2 pillows for use on the floor during breathing and relaxation exercises. Please bring a sack lunch to eat during class time.

This class will be held in Meeting Room 1 at The Medical Center of Aurora located at 1501 South Potomac St, Aurora, CO 80012.

Enter the hospital through the main entrance doors. Classes will be held in meeting room number 1 which is located in the hallway to the left of the coffee kiosk. If you need assistance locating the room ask the concierge located in the lobby.

In case of bad weather, please call the hospital’s main switchboard at 303-695-2600 at least one hour before your class for possible cancellation information.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring two pillows, a small blanket and a sack lunch.

The birth of your child is a special time. This class will give you the knowledge to prepare for the choices you'll make during your childbirth experience. You and your partner will learn and practice:

  • Massage
  • Positioning
  • Stress management & coping skills

Other subjects include the joys and challenges of pregnancy, labor and how it progresses, medical procedures and interventions, pain management and Cesarean birth. The class will also help you prepare for the postpartum time and getting to know your new baby. You will receive an informative guide addressing these topics. A tour of Labor and Deliver and Mom/Baby is included.

Rose Medical Center is very proud to be the only hospital in Denver offering a class on HypnoBirthing, which is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relating and stress-free birth experience.  This program is taught by a HypnoBirthing certified instructor that teaches you, along with your birthing companion, how to call upon your body’s own natural relaxant and thus lesson, or event eliminate, discomfort and the need for medication.  Through self-hypnosis, special breathing and visualization, HypnoBirthing teaches you how to trust your body and work with it. 

HealthONE recommends that all childbirth classes are completed by the mother’s 36th week of pregnancy.

Welcome to Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center! We are excited to be sharing this amazing time in your life with you. This is a perfect opportunity for you to get to know us better. During this 45 minute tour of our labor/delivery and mom/baby guest rooms you will discover all of the accommodations we have to make your stay with us a pleasant one. We will discuss various hospital procedures, comfort measures during and after birth, how we care for you if complications arise, and how P/SL focuses on family centered care.

This tour is best taken any time after 28 weeks, and will be offered after all Childbirth Preparation Classes.

 

This tour will be held at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in the Labor and Delivery Waiting Room located at 1719 East 19th Ave., Denver, CO 80218.

The Labor and Delivery Waiting Room is located on 3A. Please take the A elevators to the third floor of the hospital. The closest cross streets are 19th and Gilpin. You may park in the free underground parking garage across from the main lobby doors.

Flu restrictions are usually in place from October to April. Children 14 and younger as well as adults showing signs of illness will not be allowed on the tours during this time.
