This class specifically addresses the first uncertain week at home with your newborn. The class is designed to familiarize you with the characteristics of normal newborn behavior, appearance and baby care. Hands-on practice with diapering, bathing and swaddling are included.

This event will meet in the Second Floor Conference Center at Swedish Medical Center located at 501 East Hampden Ave, Englewood, CO 80113. Look for our conference room schedule board for the meeting room.

FLU SEASON IS SEPTEMBER THROUGH APRIL. For the safety of our patients, children under the age of 12 are NOT Allowed in our patient care areas. Thank you.
Free parking is available.

Baby 101 - Understanding Your Newborn

Come explore your baby’s first few months at home during this 3-hour class. We will discuss newborn characteristics, appearance and behavior as well as bathing, diapering, comforting, bonding and the importance of early skin to skin. Sleep matters, time management, hunger cues & patterns, what to purchase and how to choose a pediatrician will also be covered. You will leave feeling more comfortable and confident with your ability to care for your newborn baby.

This class is best taken between 24-36 weeks of pregnancy.

Families that register for this class will typically register for Breastfeeding Basics, Childbirth Preparation and Infant Safety.

The cost for the class is $40.00.
 

The event will be held at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center - Hummingbird Room located at 2001 High St, Denver, CO 80218.

Directions: Closest cross street: 20th Avenue and High Street. Free parking available at the hospital. It is best to park in the parking facility at 2055 High Street and enter in through the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children which is located across the driveway. Walk in through the main entrance and the classroom can be found down the hall on the right, across from the elevators.

Please bring snacks and a water bottle, pen and paper to class.

Notification of cancellation must be received at least 7 days (not including the class date) prior to the start date of the class. If cancellation or change is requested less than 7 days (not including the class date) prior, no refund will be given. (Exceptions can be made due to early delivery of their baby or mother being in the hospital)

The cost for this class is $50.00 per couple. HCA employees may receive a 50% discount. 

 

This class will be held in the North Suburban Medical Center, located at 9191 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229, inside the Aspen and Spruce Conference rooms. Enter through the main doors and take the main elevator to the Basement Level. 

Please bring a snack or drink for your comfort.

This one session class helps prepare expectant parents and new parents for emergency situations involving infants, such as difficulty breathing, choking, seizures, dehydration and SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Please bring a sack lunch to eat during class time as there will not be a scheduled lunch break. You will learn how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), how to "baby proof" your home, how to select and use safety equipment and how to respond to burns, cuts, bruises, head injuries, high fevers and more. Each couple will receive a copy of the Emergency Medical Treatment book that will be beneficial now and as your baby grows.

The class will be held in Meeting Room 1 at The Medical Center of Aurora located at 1501 South Potomac Street, Aurora, CO 80012. 

Enter the hospital through the main entrance doors. Classes will be held in meeting room number 1 which is located in the hallway to the left of the coffee kiosk. If you need assistance locating the room ask the concierge located in the lobby. 

Please dress in comfortable clothing and bring 2 pillows for use on the floor during breathing and relaxation exercises. Please bring a sack lunch to eat during class time.

You must cancel your registration 5 days prior to the start of class in order to receive a refund. There are no refunds once the class is in session unless you deliver your baby. If you need to cancel or change your class registration, please call us at 303-873-0630 We regret that occasionally, due to low registration, we must cancel a class. In this circumstance, we are happy to provide you with a full refund or allow you to enroll in another class. Each new group of veteran dads add their own insights, which keeps the content fresh and focused on the real needs of fathers.

Becoming a New Dad is exciting in so many ways, but it can also be overwhelming at times. Boot Camp for New Dads is a highly successful program that prepares Men to become Fathers with confidence. This powerful workshop features veteran Dads that speak frankly about their prospective in parenting adventures.
Topics covered include: troubleshooter’s guide to crying babies, caring for new Moms, birth and bonding, the postpartum experience, and balancing family and career.

This class is best taken between 28 – 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Families that register for this class will typically register for Baby 101: Understanding Your Newborn, and Infant Safety.

There is a $40.00 fee for this class. 

Class will be held in the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center - Dr. Jack Chang Conference Room located at 2001 North High St, Denver, CO 80205.

It is best to park in the parking facility at 2055 High Street and enter through the Rocky Mountain for Children. Go up the stairs to the second floor and turn right. The room will be straight ahead.

Please bring snacks, a water bottle, pen and paper to class.

Participants will have a good understanding of milk production and general anatomy, positioning and latch, as well as collection and proper storage of breast milk. Identifying common problems such as plugged ducts, mastitis and increasing your milk supply will also be addressed. A list of community resources will be available to support you upon your return home.


This class is best taken between 30 – 36 weeks of pregnancy.

This one-time class is valuable to those who plan to breastfeed their babies. Designed for the breastfeeding woman and her partner, we provide a positive and safe setting to talk about breastfeeding concerns and its impact on the entire family. In addition to a review of the anatomy and physiology of breastfeeding (lactation), the class explores current techniques and preparations that foster successful breastfeeding. This includes learning and practicing different nursing positions, proper collection and storage of breast milk, and the latest information on breast pumps.

This class is a valuable class for those planning to breastfeed their baby. The decision to breastfeed your newborn impacts the whole family and this class is intended to set the stage for a positive and rewarding experience. In addition to a review of the anatomy and physiology of lactation, the class explores current techniques and preparation that foster successful breastfeeding, how to prepare for returning to the workplace if need be, the proper collection and storage of breast milk, tips on proper nutrition and how to maintain your milk supply,benefits of breastfeeding, troubleshooting, and developing a breastfeeding support system.

The class will be held in Meeting Room 1 at The Medical Center of Aurora located at 1501 South Potomac Street, Aurora, CO 80012. 

Enter the hospital through the main entrance doors. Classes will be held in meeting room number 1 which is located in the hallway to the left of the coffee kiosk. If you need assistance locating the room ask the concierge located in the lobby. 

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a snack.

You must cancel your registration 5 days prior to the start of class in order to receive a refund. There are no refunds once the class is in session unless you deliver your baby. If you need to cancel or change your class registration, please call us at 303-873-0630 We regret that occasionally, due to low registration, we must cancel a class. In this circumstance, we are happy to provide you with a full refund or allow you to enroll in another class. Directions: Closest cross street: 20th Avenue and High Street. Free parking available at the hospital. It is best to park in the parking facility at 2055 High Street and enter in through the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children which is located across the driveway. This class is for those who do not wish to attend the more in-depth Prepared Childbirth class. This 5 1/2 hour class contains basic information regarding childbirth. Techniques to help you manage your pain are explained, but there is limited time to practice. Cesarean birth is briefly covered as is medical procedures and interventions. A hospital tour is not included in this class. A childbirth preparation book is included. All instructors are certified childbirth educators.

This class condenses information obtained from the Traditional Series or Childbirth After 30 classes into a 10-hour class held on a Friday evening and all day Saturday combination.

This class will be held at the Rose Medical Center Auditorium located at 4567 East 9th Ave., Denver, CO 80220.

This is a two-part class that will meet on Friday 10/20/2017 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday 10/21/2017 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The Auditorium is located on the Ground Floor of the hospital.  Take the main elevators down one level and exit the elevators to your left and then take your first right.  Turn right, then turn left when the hallway ends and follow the signage down the hall to the Auditorium.  The Auditorium will be on your right.

Participants may park in the parking garage free of charge or at the parking meters.  The parking meters are free after 6:00 PM.

Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a blanket, two pillows and a water bottle to each class.
 
 

Cancellations due to early delivery or bed rest will receive a full refund. Cancellations for any other reason will be charged a $25 cancellation fee, unless you reschedule your class for a later date. Any requests (cancellation or rescheduling) made after the class start date will be reviewed on a case by case basis and may be subject to a $25 fee.

Rose Medical Center is very proud to be the only hospital in Denver offering a class on HypnoBirthing, which is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relating and stress-free birth experience.  This program is taught by a HypnoBirthing certified instructor that teaches you, along with your birthing companion, how to call upon your body’s own natural relaxant and thus lesson, or event eliminate, discomfort and the need for medication.  Through self-hypnosis, special breathing and visualization, HypnoBirthing teaches you how to trust your body and work with it. 

HealthONE recommends that all childbirth classes are completed by the mother’s 36th week of pregnancy.

This event will be held at Rose Medical Center – Physician Office Building 2 in the Goodstein Room 3 located at 4500 East 9th Ave., Denver, CO 80220.

The Physician Office Building 2 is located on the SE corner of 9th Avenue and Clermont Street.  The Goodstein Room 3 is located on the lower level of the Physician Office Building.

This will be one of the most important classes you can take as a parent. This class covers crucial information such as infant CPR and choking, childproofing your home, basic first aid and accident prevention, basic car seat safety and more. This class is also highly recommended for Grandparents and caregivers.

This class is best taken between 32 – 38 weeks. It can also be taken after the birth of your baby.

Families that register for this class typically register for Baby 101: Understanding Your Newborn.

This event will be held at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center - Hummingbird Room located at 2001 North High St, Denver, CO 80205

Closest cross street: 20th Avenue and High Street. Free parking is available at the hospital. It is best to park in the parking facility at 2055 High Street and enter in through that Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children which is located across the driveway. Walk in through the main entrance and the classroom can be found down the hall on the right, across from the elevators.
 

Notification of cancellation must be received at least 7 days (not including the class date) prior to the start date of the class. If cancellation or change is requested less than 7 days (not including the class date) prior, no refund will be given. This will be one of the most important classes you can take as a parent. This class covers crucial information such as infant CPR and choking, childproofing your home, basic first aid and accident prevention, basic car seat safety and more. This class is also highly recommended for Grandparents and caregivers.

This class is best taken between 32 – 38 weeks. It can also be taken after the birth of your baby.

Families that register for this class typically register for Baby 101: Understanding Your Newborn.

This event will be held at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center - Longs Peak Room. 1719 East 19th Avenue, Denver, CO 80218.

Closest Cross Street: 19th Avenue and Gilpin Street (just one block from Franklin Street). Underground parking available for free across from the main lobby doors. To get to the Long's Peak Room, take the Tower A elevator to the 11th floor. Exit the elevators and there is a door to your right that says it has an alarm on it. Go through this door and all the way up the stairs. The door to the room will be on your right.
 

Notification of cancellation must be received at least 7 days (not including the class date) prior to the start date of the class. If cancellation or change is requested less than 7 days (not including the class date) prior, no refund will be given. (Exceptions can be made due to early delivery of their baby or mother being in the hospital)

This class is designed for children ages 1 ½ to 5 ½. Children will learn about the hospital and visiting routines, newborn behavior and basic baby care skills. Children will also learn about some of the different emotions that may be experienced when a sibling is added to the family. Children and parents will be encouraged to ask questions, and parents will remain with their children throughout class.

This event will be held at the Rose Medical Center Physician’s Office Building in Goodstein Room 3 located at 4500 East 9th Avenue, Denver, CO 80220.

Goodstein Room 3 is located in the lower level of the Physician’s Office Building on the SE corner of 9th Avenue and Clermont Street.

Participants may park in the parking garage free of charge or at the parking meters.  The parking meters are free after 6:00 PM.
 

Cancellations due to early delivery or bed rest will receive a full refund. Cancellations for any other reason will be charged a $25 cancellation fee, unless you reschedule your class for a later date. Any requests (cancellation or rescheduling) made after the class start date will be reviewed on a case by case basis and may be subject to a $25 fee.

It is located on the ground floor of the hospital. Take main elevators down one level and exit elevators to your left and then take your first left. Classroom is three doors down on your left. Follow signage down the hall to classroom.
